Title: Don’t Trust Yourself

So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.Galatians 5:16

Several summers ago, God called me to work with the Young Adult Ministry. Instead of obeying the call, I argued with God for eighteen months. I didn’t really care for this generation and all their self-absorbed ways. It bordered on hate, and I couldn’t stomach the idea of ministering to this age group. I completely ignored the leading of the Spirit and ran the other way. When I finally listened, I saw how much I had been missing out on. The one thing that was constant during my argument with God was the leading and gentle nudging of the Holy Spirit. It was only when I gave in to the leading of the Spirit that I could set aside my selfish feelings, and God then began to change my heart. I can now say that not walking in the Spirit caused me eighteen months of heartache, and looking back, it was a futile gesture. What are you missing out on by not walking in the Spirit?

Real Men listen to the Spirit of God.
