Thursday // Warrior :: Battle

Title: The Battle is done

For the battle is not yours, but God’s – 2 Chronicles 20:15c

I enjoy watching wildlife documentaries, which offer valuable insights into the behavior and motivations of animals.  I noticed that the cat family has similar tactics. They stock the prey, and then they attack, and it always ends with the target running from the danger. It usually ends up badly, and the tactic always seems to work.

Satan is described as a roaring lion seeking to devour us, devouring our relationship with God, repeatedly using the same tactics. We can be confident that Satan is on the hunt, but we don’t need to respond by running away from the battle. We can stand up and defend ourselves. The scripture today tells us the battle is not ours but God’s. The lion that is seeking to separate us from God has already been beaten.  We need to stand firm and face the enemy with confidence. Recognize his tactics and know the battle is done.

Real Men face the enemy with the confidence that he is already defeated.
