Those who cling to worthless idols turn away from God’s love for them. – Jonah 2:8
Idols can come in many forms nowadays, like money, time, control, and whatever else we put between God and us. In Mathew 6:33, we are told to seek first His kingdom and righteousness, and that is all we need.
Easier said than done, I know, but when we pursue Christ with our full enthusiasm, we have no need for idols. Once we realize that hope and comfort can only come from Jesus, the easier it is to surrender our idols.
Real men surrender their idols.
